The Goal
Understand what Player, Banker and Tie mean and how a Baccarat round is decided.
Baccarat compares two hands: Player and Banker.
The hand whose final total is closest to 9 wins.
You are not playing your own hand against the casino. You are predicting which of the two hands will win.
A round can finish with Player winning, Banker winning, or a Tie.
02Card Values
Learn the simple card-value system used in Baccarat.

Card Values
Learn the simple card-value system used in Baccarat.
Ace is worth 1 point.
Cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value.
10, Jack, Queen and King are worth 0 points.
Suits have no effect on the value of a card.
03Hand Totals
Learn why Baccarat totals are always between 0 and 9.
+
Hand Totals
Learn why Baccarat totals are always between 0 and 9.
Add the values of all cards in the hand.
If the total is 10 or more, only the last digit counts.
For example, 7 + 8 = 15, so the Baccarat total is 5.
A hand containing 9 + 7 + 6 totals 22, so its Baccarat value is 2.
04Naturals
Understand the strongest opening hands in Baccarat.
+
Naturals
Understand the strongest opening hands in Baccarat.
An initial two-card total of 8 or 9 is called a natural.
If Player or Banker has a natural, no additional cards are normally drawn.
A natural 9 is stronger than a natural 8.
If both hands have the same natural total, the round is a Tie.
05Player Drawing Rule
Learn when the Player hand receives a third card.
+
Player Drawing Rule
Learn when the Player hand receives a third card.
Player draws a third card with a total from 0 to 5.
Player stands with a total of 6 or 7.
A natural 8 or 9 ends the normal drawing process.
The Player drawing rule is automatic. The player does not choose whether to hit or stand.
06Banker Drawing Rule
Understand why the Banker third-card rule is more advanced.
+
Banker Drawing Rule
Understand why the Banker third-card rule is more advanced.
If Player stands, Banker normally draws on totals from 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7.
If Player draws a third card, Banker's decision can depend on both the Banker total and the value of Player's third card.
These rules are fixed by Baccarat rules and are not strategic decisions made by the bettor.
ACE LAB's Third Card Trainer will teach this rule separately through repetition.
